It is with great pleasure that the Committee of the International Children’s Games shares with you an inspirational sport documentary film that our friend Elvis Joseph of „Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation“ has been working on for six years (2015–2020).
„Running Positive“ follows the lives of Babu and Manik who were both born HIV positive, and who now – trained under Elvis - run marathons across the world. In 2015 they took part in Alkmaar International Children’s Summer Games.
It is India's first documentary film on sports & advocacy that made its successful entry at the AMPAS (OSCARS 2020 ). It has been invited to many more international film festivals.
„Running positive“ as part of Elvis Joseph’s mission project „Champion in me“ is advocating globallly for children's equal right to play sports, eradicating stigma & discrimination and building a safe eco system through sports as a medium of transformation.

Postponement of Pyeongchang Winter Games 2021
Sep 06 2020- Details
Dear friends and ICG family,
with this post we wish to inform you about the postponement of the 9th International Children's Winter Games 2021 in the city of Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea.
As the COVID-19 pandemic still doesn't allow for big events such as International Children's Games the Organizing Committee for the 9th ICG Winter Games has taken the most responsible decission to move the event to 2022.
The most honourable Han Wang-kee, Mayor of Pyeongchang, writes in his letter to the ICG Executive Committee:
"We understand that this news will be disappointing for many people who has been waiting for the games. (...) also, we would like to express our sincere thanks to every cities answering the invitation, a great friend and supporter in spite of those global issues. (...) once again, we appreciate all of your supports and cooperation for our organization. Wishing you, your families and your friends first of all good health and all the best, with kind regards. We will see you at Pyeongchang 2022."
We do hope so, too, and send you all our warmest greetings - stay safe and healthy!

Sports grounds have been closed all over the world.
Dear friends and ICG family,
the Executive Committee of the International Children’s Games hopes that all of you stay safe and healthy in these challenging and uncomfortable pandemic times!
As you all know the Executive Committee of the International Children’s Games has been looking forward very much to welcoming the world at the 54th International Children's Games in Kecskemét, Hungary this summer from 30th of June to 5th of July 2020.
By the end of the registration period 108 cities had confirmed their participation, an enormous number that ICG is very proud of!
But this great event - like so many others - had to be cancelled as Hungarian Government and Kecskemét City Operational Body would not want to put any athlete, coach, or city representative under danger of getting infected with the coronavirus. A very reasonable and truly inevitable decission, still a sad one for everybody who had already prepared to go to Hungary! We are now looking to the future and are hoping to celebrate International Children's Winter Games in the Olympic region of Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea which are planned to take place from 19th to 24th of February 2021.
The Winter Games will include the sports of Alpine Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, Snowboard, Biathlon, Ice Hockey, Figure Skating and Short Track.
2021 shall also see International Children's Summer Games in the Republic of Korea. The city of Daegu has been a host for the Games in 2012 and is ready to host the Games again. ICG Executive Committee is absolutely sure that both events in South Korea will be really amazing and outstanding. Please register for these Games if you haven't done so yet!Let us all hope and work together for the end of this worldwide pandemic crisis and for another chance to meet all very soon again!
Good luck, stay healthy, and best regards,
Torsten Rasch
